SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Brooks Kushman Shareholder Ben Stasa will be a panelist at the upcoming IAM Connect: AI IP 2022 event. This event will feature experts in AI and IP to discuss how AI is advancing as well as the implications for not just IP but for society. Brooks Kushman is also a Gold Sponsor of the upcoming event.
In his panel titled “AI as an Inventor,” panelists will discuss that although an AI program cannot currently be named an inventor on a USPTO-issued patent, developments in other jurisdictions may mean that it is not a sustainable position. They will explore the key issues at play, how the different jurisdictions compare, and what the implications are of not allowing AI programs to be named inventors.
