SOUTHFIELD, Michigan – Brooks Kushman is pleased to announce that Shareholder Michael Turner has been elected by his peers to serve as the firm’s new Co-Chair of Prosecution. Turner joined the firm in 2001 and has been a critical member of the team since then, particularly focusing on streamlining processes, training, and mentoring.

Since joining the firm, Turner has taken a proactive role in mentorship, training, and professional development. He has a passion for training associates. He has also taken a leadership role within the firm to recruit new patent professionals. As one example, he partnered with Kettering University Career Program to encourage students to seek a career in intellectual property.

Turner has over 20 years of patent prosecution experience, working with clients to manage domestic and foreign patent portfolios. His practice focuses on mechanical matters, electromechanical matters, systems, business methods, and designs. His industry background in robotics and automation provides him with experience in various technologies and manufacturing processes, which he utilizes to protect his client’s intellectual property rights.
