SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – On September 27, 2018 Brooks Kushman attorneys are joining volunteers throughout the world and participating in the Ford Legal Alliance for Women (LAW) inaugural Global Day of Service. The purpose of the Day of Service is to have the Ford legal team and global legal partners give back to their communities, and work towards the common goal of positively impacting the cities where they live and work. Brooks Kushman is one of over 90 firms throughout the world partnering with LAW to volunteer their time to work with organizations that help and empower women and girls in their respective communities.
Brooks Kuhsman attorneys are volunteering at Vista Maria, painting rooms in the residential halls and organizing clothes available for girls to shop for; at the Detroit Department of Neighborhoods Expungement Fair, working with Detroit City Project Clean Slate to help individuals begin the process of having certain convictions expunged from their record; and at Crossroads of Michigan, organizing food donations and putting together soup kitchen packets.
“Through this day of service, we are aiming to marshal the collective efforts of our partners in the legal profession around world to give back to the community,” said Beth Rose, assistant general counsel at Ford Motor Company and chairperson of Ford’s Legal Alliance for Women. “The passion we share in advocating for and serving our communities extends beyond this one day. It is part of who we are as individuals and drives our community service year round.”
Brooks Kushman is proud to continue working with women and girls in Detroit in partnership with Ford LAW. “We are dedicated to supporting our community, through STEM initiatives for girls, literacy tutoring and more, and appreciate Ford’s commitment to giving back,” said Fidler, “Mobilizing legal teams from more than eight countries is an impressive effort, and I look forward to seeing the collective impact we are able to make.”
