Los Angeles, March 12, 2012 – Intellectual property law firm Brooks Kushman P.C. moved its office to downtown Los Angeles and has expanded its practice with the addition of experienced patent attorney Sanford Astor. Based in Detroit, Brooks Kushman opened its L.A. office in 2008 in an effort to better serve the firm`s long-term client base in California and build upon its IP litigation experience in the California courts. Brooks Kushman`s move to downtown L.A. signals the firm`s growing presence in the California legal market.

Astor is an attorney with over 40 years of experience in IP law in California and nationwide. Astor focuses his practice on patent, trademark, and copyright prosecution and litigation, and he brings high-level IP experience in chemical and mechanical engineering, medical devices, internet and digital programming, and also has provided legal services in the entertainment industry. He recently secured several patents covering nanotechnology for University of California, San Diego, and has prepared and prosecuted patent, trademark, and copyright applications for multiple technical aspects involved in motion pictures. Prior to entering private practice, Astor worked for five years as a Patent Examiner in the United States Patent & Trademark Office.
