Southfield, Mich. – Brooks Kushman was named as one of the most active firms in the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) in a special report published by Managing IP during the first half of 2015. In addition to the firm’s listing, four of the firm’s attorneys were listed in the report as the busiest practitioners. From January-June, 2015, Brooks Kushman filed 21 petitions with the PTAB.

Brooks Kushman attorneys recognized in the listing are Shareholders Angileri, John Rondini and John Nemazi and Associate Michael MacCallum.
Angileri filed 17 petitions with the PTAB. He is co-chair of Brooks Kushman’s Post-Grant Proceedings practice, and focuses on IP litigation. He has successfully tried patent, trademark, trade secret and copyright cases in Federal Courts nationwide, the Courts of Appeals for the Sixth and Federal Circuits, and the International Trade Commission.
Rondini, who filed 13 petitions with the PTAB, focuses on IP prosecution and litigation with an emphasis on patent litigation, patentability opinions, and infringement investigation. He has represented clients from start-ups and individual inventors to Fortune 500 companies in a variety of industries including, automotive, computer, software, telecommunication, medical devices and alternative energy.
Nemazi filed seven petitions in the first half of the year. He serves as co-chair of Brooks Kushman’s Patent Prosecution practice, and focuses on domestic and foreign patent prosecution. He uses his deep understanding of various technologies, which he utilizes to protect his client`s IP rights and reduce the time required to take a product from conception to production.
MacCallum filed six petitions with the PTAB. His practice focuses on preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the automotive industry. As Post-Grant Proceedings, particularly Inter Partes Review, play a larger role in patent enforcement, counseling clients on these procedures are an increasing focus of his practice.
