Complementing its growth in capability, prominence and talent, Brooks Kushman recently expanded its reach by opening an office in Los Angeles to better service its West Coast clients and is exploring international markets to better serve global clients.

The IP specialty firm currently employs 17 female professionals, representing almost 25 percent of the firm`s lawyers a unique characteristic given the IP law arena is typically a male-dominated field. To continue driving its diversity successes, the law firm has recently appointed its first chief diversity officer to strengthen its gender and minority recruitment and retention efforts.
Brooks Kushman`s capable staff allows the firm to successfully interface with a diverse group of clients including four U.S. Fortune 100 companies that span industries, which range from automotive to IT services, and solutions and from life sciences to telecommunications.
The law firm has successfully litigated and tried numerous cases relating to a variety of IP and technology-related matters, including its recent representation of z4 Technologies, Inc., a Michigan company, in a patent infringement suit against Microsoft Corp. and Autodesk, Inc. The suit resulted in a judgment of $140 million in favor of z4, a judgment later affirmed on appeal one of the largest judgments of its kind.
