ROYAL OAK, Michigan – Brooks Kushman is delighted to announce that the firm has again achieved Midsize Mansfield Certification Plus status again for 2023-2024 — the highest available level of certification. Brooks Kushman has been an Early Adopter of the program, achieving and remaining certified since the initial launch of the Midsize program in 2020.
Participating firms commit to the core principles of transparency, accountability, and knowledge sharing to achieve Mansfield Certification. Through data-driven processes, this program designed by Diversity Lab includes:
- Contributing to monthly group knowledge-sharing discussions and attending expert-led legal workshops to ensure the lawful implementation of Mansfield’s principles.
- Drafting and making advancement processes of leadership role descriptions transparent and accessible to all lawyers, which naturally broadens the pool of talent considered for leadership roles.
- Tracking client pitch teams, lateral hires, and equity partner promotions.
While over 360 firms earned Mansfield Certification this period, only about half of those including Brooks Kushman opted into Certification Plus. This designation is reserved for firms that voluntarily report the outcomes of their inclusive processes.
Diversity Lab designs, tests, and measures the outcomes of science-based and data-driven talent practices that allow for fair and equal access to advancement opportunities. Their primary focus is on leaders in the law, since they often rise to positions of influence in government, boardrooms, courtrooms, and beyond. The more diverse our leadership, the more inclusive and equitable the decisions will be that benefit the entire workforce and society.
