Brooks Kushman Welcomes Detroit Cristo Rey Students

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – For nearly ten years, Brooks Kushman has welcomed students from Detroit Cristo Rey High School as a part of the school’s Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP). The program is designed to give the Cristo Rey students the opportunity to spend one day a week working at a local business and the other four days a week in the classroom.  Brooks Kushman is one of many local businesses working with the school and our student team consists of two returning students, Eliyah Johnson and Nahomi Garcia, that each work one to two days a week at the firm.

The CWSP contracts with partner organizations like Brooks Kushman to fill entry-level clerical positions at the Partners’ place of business. The purpose of the CWSP is to provide students with real world job experiences, while also helping them earn a large portion of the cost of their education. By participating in the Program, Partners create an invaluable learning and work experience for the students as they work in an adult environment, which teaches them the importance of acting responsibly and professionally.
